Strategy formulation involves identifying the strategies required to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives, and developing an actionable plan.  This plan provides the organization with a roadmap for the planning horizon and will drive the allocation of economic resources during the budgeting process. In this module, we will explain the purpose of strategy formulation and show how to use the analysis of the operating environment in this process. We will explain how to establish strategies and action plans and how to differentiate between the two with real-world examples. Finally, we will present practical guidelines to conduct a successful strategy setting session.
